Welcome to Crowder Farm.

We’re John and Jen Crowder, along with our three children.

Crowder Farm has been part of the Crowder family for generations. John’s grandparents purchased this peaceful 5.5-acre property in the 1950s and spent decades turning it into a home and small family farm.

John’s grandfather renovated and expanded the house, adding indoor plumbing, brick, and a living room. He built a garage and chicken coop, improved the barn, and even dug the foundation and well by hand. His wife spent countless hours baking, gardening, canning, and preserving food for the family.

When John’s father took over the property, he continued that tradition. He completely renovated the inside of the house, built the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops himself, and transformed a field into a pond and greenspace for the family and animals to enjoy.

In 2018, we purchased the property from John’s father, becoming the third generation of Crowders to call it home.

During our time there, we brought chickens and other animals back to the property, at one point having around 100 chickens. We planted trees and natural species, worked on the gardens and landscape, and made our own additions and improvements to the property.

In 2026, our family moved on to a new chapter, and the original Crowder Farm property is now home to another family. While we no longer live there, the farm remains an important part of our family’s story.

We’re keeping the Crowder Farm name and this website as a place to share our projects, interests, and experiences—whether they involve farming, animals, building, repairs, technology, or simply life in the country.
